In the past, while a lookup field connected two modules, it couldn't show you the actual data inside those modules without a click. Now, you can pull specific fields (like a customer's email, account status, or recent notes) from a related module and display them instantly.
The best part? It’s live. If your colleague updates a Contact’s phone number, that change "mirrors" instantly on the related Deal. No refreshing, no outdated info, and zero navigation required.
Mirror Component vs. Field of Lookup (FOL)
This is a question we often get as a Zoho Partner. While both tools bring in related data, they serve different masters:
- Use Field of Lookup (FOL) when you need to interact with the data. For example, pulling a standard product price into a Quote so you can manually discount it.
- Use Mirror Components when you need read-only visibility. It’s perfect for displaying contact details or account history that should stay consistent across the system.

- Capacity: You can add up to 100 mirror fields per module, spread across up to five lookup fields.
- Visibility: These fields appear on the Create, Edit, and Details pages (they are not visible in List Views).
- Availability: Supported in all modules where lookup fields are available (excluding Tasks, Meetings, and Calls).
- Editions: This feature is available for all paid Zoho CRM editions.
