Allergy Standards: A Single Point Of Truth For Global Certification
Allergy Standards Ltd (ASL), founded by A&E doctor Dr. John McKeon, certifies "allergy-friendly" products for a global market. Scaling from start-up to international testing, inspection and certification (TIC) body meant leaving spreadsheets behind for good.
The Challenge
In its early years, ASL ran on a maze of spreadsheets and basic Excel, workable for a start-up, but not for an organisation trying to guarantee consistency and reproducibility in a regulated field.
"There comes a time where you have to scale and get discipline, reproducibility, and consistency in your processes."
Dr. John McKeon, CEO and Founder, Allergy Standards LtdChief Innovation Officer Dave Morrisey set out a genuinely ambitious brief: one CRM tying together clients, certificates, testing applications and communications, with live pricing, mobile access for international travel, and dedicated space for marketing and employee development, all in one place.
The Solution
Zoho CRM became that single point of truth, linked directly to Zoho Creator for certified product and renewal data, Zoho Forms for capturing website enquiries straight into the CRM, Zoho Survey for feeding responses back to the right contact record, and Zoho Books for live pricing. Head of Learning and Development Emma Coonan later carved out a dedicated space within the CRM for goal-setting and staff development planning, tying individual growth plans to company-wide KPIs.
The Results
- One connected system replacing 15+ years of disconnected spreadsheets
- Client, certificate, testing and communication data all linked in a single record
- A foundation genuinely built for scale, not just a fix for today's headcount
